Friday Joe called me up to see if wanted to go out on Jason Gale's 27 Contender I was in for sure.  We ran out offshore and loaded up both wells in the tender full of pinners and grunts and runners.  Fueled the boat and met a guy who had shad he just caught and bought a cooler full off him.  Got the boat cleaned and Iced down and met back their at 4.  Got the boat in at 5 O'Neil and picked up our pinfish that we had in a pin and made the run it was glass calm so I got to sleep in the bean bag the whole way out.  Solid hour and a half out... First stop marked the jacks and jumped up grabbed the butterfly rod and got a legal jack after a couple twitches. We ended up getting our limit of jacks and red snapper in no time..  We got a few really nice scamps too..

Thursday we got the boat all Iced up at Knockmans and ran a couple errands got everything ready and ran off  the beach and caught pins and grunts  and made our way offshore.  We started working about 150 ft and worked our way out to 200 ft over the next couple days.  I didn't get a ton of pictures because it was busy fishing.. I got some really nice scamps  8-10 Lb class on the butterfly Jig in the 160-200 of water first drop every stop out there and some big red grouper..  At about night matt woke me up off the bean bag to let the anchor rope go and told me get ready and drop down.  Whole mack to the bottom got smoked after a serious battle I got this big beast in the boat! 45 Lb rusty in the boat I was stoked that was a good fight and he crushed that whole B mack!  The next morning we got a couple more good fish after sunrise grabbed another pic of my big one and another 30 Lb fish.. Photobucket Photobucket
I had the International 50w out in between spot and could only get Bonita out there.  Photobucket
We got some really nice Red snapper some spots dead bait was out of the question they were so bad... The biggest I got was close to 20 Lbs this one was about 12... But Pretty! Photobucket
The sharks  and the red snapper in the deep water are bad! We finished up in the ground the last day used some tricks that for sure increased our catch ratio by a ton...  Seen krill come right under the boat and drift through and right behind that we got a bonito and had a 15 Lb dolphin he was there and then gone.. I had him hooked up for a sec on a chicken right I had on... I pulled in the anchor on day 4 and got the internationals out and passed out.. Photobucket
Matt said he has never heard a reel get smoked that quick and we got spooled on a 50 W on the way back from the grounds... We ended getting 1400 Lb of fish it was a good trip and learned a couple more tricks and got my biggest rusty..

During the past week Joe and I have been getting a ton of Bonita on our offshore trips.   So we got the idea lets go camp out and paddle the Bonita out for shark bait.  After we got in from the trip and we talked to Hale (the owner of Eagle Parasail and the owner of the boat Joe and I run for the business) about doing the camping out and shark fishing  and he got all excited he wanted to take his wife and his 2 kids out there too.  We planned to get out Saturday afternoon we got all the stuff together and loaded down the 32 Chris Craft Scorpion with all the camping gear and strapped the New Tarpon 140 and Tarpon 160 I just got the day before.  We set up camp just as the sun was going down unloaded everything off the boat got the tents up and started a fire.  My brother Jeremy  and my buddy Tony also came out on a  Ghennoe. The Kids were having a blast cruising around in my kayaks up and down the beach.. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket  By about 10 we got all settled in with out camping gear and we started paddling out our baits.  I have learned how to do the shark fishing like this from some of the Texas guys when they come down here.  The left me a few rigs and we were able to duplicate them and they also gave me some sand weights which are key for anchoring of out baits.  No time at all we paddled out the baits and we had 2 hits in about 10 minutes then about a half hour later we had a good run and we were able to all take turns fighting the shark we got him in it was a about a 5 foot bull shark. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket We Ended up catching another smaller one shark and messed with the snook that were cruising the beach the whole night. it ended up being a very nice night bugs weren't to bad but after the moon set we didn't get anymore shark hits.  Photobucket We had some Bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and loaded all the stuff on the mother ship. I walked the beach and tried for all the snook but with the weekend traffic they didn't want to cooperate I was able to get a nice little flounder.. Photobucket We loaded up and cruised around the bay the rest of the day and fished a couple different areas it was a fun trip and we will definently be doing it again real soon!

Sunday we went out in plans of getting on a good mango bite with the  full moon. We  left at 4 in the morning and got out there and even at night the water was way to clear and we got like 6 or so but soon as the sun came out  Danny Jumped in the water and started spearing them.   The Main mission while we went out their was to retrieve our anchor we lost on another full moon snapper mission when it got real ruff and our anchor slid right into the rocks.. Mission accomplished when Erin Came up with the anchor and a bonus of a nice Gag grouper.  I helped take fish of the spear and watch bubbles and carry tanks...  They ended up getting 24 Hogfish 4 gags and 2 anchors and back in by 12 glass calm cruising in.. Photobucket Photobucket Just  in  time to hang out with the family at the sand bar on mothers day and enjoy fresh fish on the grill. I was running some errands around town and Jessie calls me up and asks if I wanted to get out with them on his 27 conch and help them while they dive..  It was still clear but a little bit bumpier but that boat rides so nice..  Dane Karcher and Jessie were free diving in 40 feet of water and coming up with hogs every time they went down.  We moved around and they found some new bottom Jessie had a buddy who had some dive tanks and he went down to and got some too.  I got in the water and actually tried pulling my self and watched Dane free dive was truly amazing to watch.  He did a couple dives with the tanks and came up with full stringers both times.  They got 25 Hogs and 4 gags and found some new bottom..  Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket We filleted up all the fish and had a couple hogs cooked  fried whole  and some grilled and blackened right their behind Jessie's boat at Sea hags and it was Phenomenal! Because it has been so good after Morgan and a Brian got off work we went out for a little bit before sun down.  Photobucket Photobucket We Brought  a bag of hogfish up to Osaka's and had Kay do some sushi mi it was so killer!
