Treasure Island, Florida (May 2, 2009)- With over 175 pre registered boats the King of the Beach event is once again a hit for both recreational and professional anglers. This years KOB tournamant directors had paced a 30 mile boundry line to even out the competition among the go fast and long range running teams.

With over 300 registered boats and beautiful weather on the horizion some big fish were brough to the scale. Team Salt Island Captined by Kyle Conrad scaled a 39.50 pounder which was big enough to take this years event and $10,000 cash. They were fishing southwest in over 100' of water. This was the teams first time fishing a king mackerel tournament so we will see if thier hand stays hot for next weekends SKA division 6 tournament.

Captain Dave Mistrettas Jaws Too just could not up the ante, but scaled a nice 38.54lb king which was good enough for second place. Its frustrating to get second for such a nice fish, but just heart breaking to do in back to back events. Captain Dave Mistretta scaled a respectable 35.46lb in the fall KOB, but it too was just merly shy of Hannon's Cannon 1st place fish. A pound and a half to be exact.

Thrid place went to Capatin Jason Gell with a 37.18lb king mackerel. They have certainly had the lucky horse shoe these past few weekends scaleing some nice fish in hte upper 30 pound range from inside the bay.

Hopefully we can see all of you at next years event and look forward to seeing some new faces.
